University of Education, Winneba

Created in 1992, the University of Education of Winneba is located in Winneba, in the central region of Ghana. It focuses on teacher training and the production of professional educators for the Ghana education system. The University of Education, Ghana aims to play a leading role in the production of researchers who will contribute to the development of the nation. More than 100 programmes are available for students through the fulltime, part-time, sandwich and distance study modes.

It is a multi-campus university with six locations. Three of them at Winneba, one at Ajumako, and the other two at Kumasi and Mampong, both in the Ashanti Region.

The University is charged with the responsibility of producing professional educators to contribute to the national vision of education and allow the rapid economic and social development of Ghana.
